Online portals good for business in Brazil

Secovi logoEstate agents that provide their offerings on the platform of the Network Secovi have the opportunity to enhance their sales exponentially, according to a recent news report from Secovi-SP. One reason cited is the partnerships established between Network and other real estate national and international portals, including WorldProperties.com, which supports multiple language translation and reaches a network of millions of real estate professionals around the world.

Real estate firms can easily identify contacts coming through the portals and are pleased with the numbers. A sales agent with Avilia Homes & Manno reported 170 contacts in January resulting from the partner portals, adding, "Our expectations for this year are good." Others reported inquires exceeding 500 in a month.

Secovi emphasizes the value of the portals includes a better informed consumer. By the time potential buyers speak with a broker, they know the characteristics of the neighborhood, the average price, and details of the house or apartment.

Mobile devices also now have greater relevance. "Five percent of all traffic on our site now comes from mobile phones, smartphones and tablets," said Caio Ribeiro of eBay's classifieds in Brazil.

Secovi stresses the need to know how to use the online tools. Common problems include insufficient or inaccurate information on the property descriptions, being too subjective and poor use of photos. During 2013 Network Secovi will offer events to guide real estate brokers and managers on how to best take advantage of technology.
