Danish agents celebrate 100
May 04, 2012

On May 11,
Dansk Ejendomsmæglerforening (DE) – the Danish Association of Chartered Estate Agents – will celebrate its 100th anniversary. DE was formed in 1912 for the purpose of “gathering all reputable real estate agents who run real estate by commission, therefore being able to safeguard all members' business interests and ensure that buyers and sellers experience good and effective treatment.”
DE has more than 3,000 members, representing nearly 95% of all practicing Danish estate agents. The members are either owners of an estate agency or employed in the business. There are approximately 1,500 estate agencies in Denmark.
The celebration will kick off with an official reception at the Tivoli Congress Centre in Copenhagen where DE Chairman Steen Winther-Petersen, among others, will say a few words and annual awards will be presented. Greetings from DE’s international partners, including one from ICREA Board Chair Howard Morley, will be read. A formal dinner and party will follow with music, entertainment and dancing. DE reports that the event sold out some time back and that 1,400 are attending with a waiting list of 1,000.
